When you use InboxToKindle, we collect:

  • Account Information: Your email address and password (encrypted)
  • Kindle Device Information: Your Kindle email address(es) for delivery
  • Newsletter Content: Emails sent to your InboxToKindle address, which we convert to EPUB format
  • Usage Data: Number of newsletters processed, delivery logs

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information solely to:

  • Provide the newsletter-to-Kindle conversion service
  • Send newsletters to your registered Kindle devices
  • Track usage for billing (free tier limits)
  • Send account-related notifications

3. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely using:

  • PostgreSQL database on AWS RDS with encryption at rest
  • AWS S3 for EPUB file storage with private access controls
  • Passwords are hashed using Django's default PBKDF2 algorithm
  • HTTPS encryption for all data in transit

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

  • Amazon Web Services (AWS): For hosting, email processing (SES), and file storage (S3)
  • Stripe: For payment processing (billing information is handled directly by Stripe)

We do not sell or share your personal data with any other third parties.

5. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access your personal data
  • Delete your account and all associated data
  • Export your data
  • Update your preferences

6. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account:

  • Your personal information is permanently deleted within 30 days
  • EPUB files are deleted from S3 immediately
  • Anonymized usage statistics may be retained for analytics
